Childhood friends, Ed and Ivo, started distilling their own vodka as a hobby. They quickly realised not only the brilliance of their vodka, but a gap in the market for a sustainable vodka too! Made in the heart of London, Sapling use local ingredients to reduce transport emissions. It is four times distilled from 100% British wheat with charcoal filtered, de-ionised water. The high starch content of the wheat leaves the fresh finish and a hint of natural sweetness that makes Sapling easy to drink and lends itself brilliantly to a number of popular cocktails.
We’ll be working closely with Sapling Spirits in our tree planting efforts. Just like here at Sustainabox, for every bottle you buy a tree is planted - from fruit trees in London to Oak trees in Bristol. Both Ed and Ivo were passionate tree planters growing up, inspiring them to pursue their vodka mission. One tree can absorb up to 1.5 tonnes of carbon in its lifetime. Making a bottle of vodka emits about 2.5kg of carbon. You could say each bottle of Sapling pays back over 535 times.
“‘We are really excited to be partnering with SustainaBox on a joint tree planting project this year. Planting with our trade partners and customers is something we relish and an important part of reaching our ecological goals.”
